A spiritual and cultural home for Melbourne's Hindu community.
Shri Sankat Mochan Navdurga Temple
The temple was founded by devotees who wished to create a place in Huntingdale where families could worship together, pass on traditions to the next generation and celebrate the festivals of the Hindu calendar as a community.
Today it hosts daily aarti, weekly Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand path, Navratri celebrations, and life-cycle ceremonies for families across Melbourne.

Presiding deities
Sankat Mochan Hanuman ji
Hanuman ji is revered as Sankat Mochan, the remover of troubles. A symbol of strength, devotion and selfless service to Lord Ram, he is worshipped especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays with the Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand and sindoor offerings.
Maa Navdurga
Maa Durga is worshipped in her nine forms, each honoured on one night of Navratri. Together they represent the complete power of the Divine Mother.

Temple etiquette
Dress code
Please wear modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
Footwear
Remove shoes before entering the prayer hall. Racks are provided.
Respect
Keep phones on silent and maintain a calm, prayerful atmosphere.
Food
Only vegetarian food on temple grounds. No alcohol or smoking.
